Beatriz Martins Arruda

Hi, everyone! I'm a brazilian architect who is currently studying ecovillages in my country. Just recently I have come across bioarchitecture, permaculture and agroecology and I want to learn more and educate myself to be able to help build homes, settlements and cities more commited to sustainable ways of living, and more socially just communities. While in architecture school I've asked myself many times how to improve quality of life in brazilian cities with low-impact, low-cost designs and specially how to better manage wastes and water in urban environments. I think the ecovillage path is a good one since I've realized how turned away from nature I've been all my life as a big city inhabitant. So, I hope I can find the answers I long to improve myself and my capabilities of thinking and designing differently from mainstream way of life and of architectural practice. Thanks for this opportunity and may God help us all in building up another possible future for ourselves and generations to come!
